Nautical Themed 1st Birthday Party - Kid Friendly Guest Book

Guest books or mechanisms to capture people's thoughts and memories are very popular at all parties.  When I mentioned having something like this to capture the day, the hostess wasn't really interested.  The thought of having to keep up with something to hang on the wall or collect dust on a shelf wasn't up her alley.  But when I mentioned having all guests sign a nautical themed picture book she was all ears.

I found this great book at a local shop called On a Pirate Ship.  Not only did it fit the theme but is something that Ethan can actually use!

On a Pirate Ship (Picture Books)

We styled the front entry table with a cute nautical frame with instructions, nautical ribbon bunting and an anchor.  The hostess already had an infant picture of Ethan which was the perfect touch on this special day.

We used a riser to elevate the frame - just a box wrapped in craft paper and finished off with a ribbon and anchor printable.

Before the party, I wrote Ethan's name and the date to commemorate the occasion.

Do you have creative guest book ideas?  Something practical goes a long way!
