Nautical 1st Birthday Party - Finished Sailboat and Outdoor Details

Theresa and I are getting together for a Quite The Occasion Staff meeting today and first on the agenda is to celebrate the success of Ethan's party.  Here are the final details from the day.  Enjoy!

Theresa made this great banner that hung in the doorway from the living room to the kitchen.  She made it reversible so guests could see it from both sides!  So smart!

We styled this versatile tent that belonged to the hosts with great nautical bunting.

Under the tent there were some snacks and the alcoholic beverages.  Tea and lemonade were inside.

We added some jars with seashells and red fabric to complete the table.

Fresh dahlia's from the farm basket were the perfect pop!  We also created nautical name tags with space to write the guests name and their crew title underneath it.  Such as first mate, rigger, deck hand, swabbie, captain, etc.

I love, love, love the bunting that Theresa made!  It was so easy and relatively inexpensive.  See the tutorial here from Parents.com.

And here is the sailboat picture booth we made.  It looked great against the whitewash finish of their outdoor shed.  To put it together, we simply placed the dowel in the ground.  To see our inspiration boat, click here from parents.com.

And lastly what is a party without favors for the kids?  The hostess put together these great red and blue buckets with a few toys from the bargain bins at Target.  What a deal!  We also included the bubbles I styled with matching scrapbook paper.  The kids loved them!

This was a really special party.  Not only was it our first gig but it was for a new friend that I have made in my neighborhood.  Her son, Ethan, is just 7 weeks older than Reed and they have become good buddies.  It is so great to see them together!

Here is Ethan giving Reed a hug and kiss and saying in his own words, "thanks for coming man!"

Check out the adorable birthday hat we styled too!  So cute!

Dear Sarah and Theresa,

There are not words to thank you for all you did for Ethan's party.  You made the day so very special.  It would have not been the same without your wonderful vision.  I believe you all will be extremely successful as you begin your company and I will look forward to watching it grow.

Thank you again for making the experience of our child's first birthday so memorable.

With love and admiration,

Sharon J.

Wow!  Sometimes I pinch myself because I am so excited about our new business!  But we are doing it!  I hope you stay with me between now and the launch...great stuff is coming!

Cheers!  Hope you have an awesome party to go to this weekend.  If you see any clever ideas or great decorations, snap a picture and share!

~ Sarah
